Teen Aerial

Aerial Dance Classes for 13 to 17 Year-Olds

Students 13 to 17 years old take our teen aerial dance classes. In these classes students learn four apparatuses. These include silks, trapeze, sling (hammock), and lyra (hoop). Firstly, is aerial silks. The silks are one long piece of strong nylon fabric. The silks are rigged to the ceiling with 2 separate tails. Secondly, is trapeze. Trapeze is a bar apparatus that spins and swings. In addition, is aerial hammock. It is a fabric apparatus that hangs a few feet off the ground. It is also known as sling. Finally, lyra is also known as hoop. It is a steel apparatus similar in size to a hula hoop. Our instructors teach one apparatus per class. For example, the first week will be silks. Subsequently, the next week would be trapeze.

New students will start in a beginner session. In other words, students need to learn fundamental skills before progressing to higher levels. After that, students are often ready for an intermediate class. Students perform at the end of the session. This occurs during the final class! Above all, students will gain strength, confidence, and flexibility!

Why sessions? Drop in classes are difficult. In other words, when there are new students each week skills need to constantly be repeated. Therefore, we teach in a session based format. This allows for progressive instruction. Above all, with sessions, student’s learn more, and quicker! We offer 3 make up classes per session.
