Performance Company

Aerial Dance Performance Company

Our Adult and Youth Aerial Dance Performance Companies offer an exceptional opportunity for Intermediate 2+ level aerialists to deepen their technical skills and stage presence through a weekly Performance Company master class. Each session culminates in a full-scale theater production, where students showcase both solo and group performances.

Adult and Youth  students enrolled in the January-May session (only) of Performance Company will also have the exciting opportunity to participate in a group act in our “Cirque of Fortune” (COF) Professional Show. Participation in this act is an exclusive benefit for Company members, with no additional registration fees (though we do sell tickets to cover the theatre and coach costs).

The curriculum of the Performance Company emphasizes four main apparatuses—silks, sling, lyra, and trapeze—with the potential to incorporate alternative apparatuses like rope, cloud swing, or acro, depending on the coach’s vision. Alongside technique, students dive into the art of performance, working on musicality, character-driven movement, meaningful transitions, and much more. Each student will learn pre-set choreography, develop a solo piece, and participate in a collaborative group act, ensuring a well-rounded experience in performance artistry. All roles are equally weighted, focusing on collective storytelling rather than traditional casting.

This program is ideal for those with a strong foundation in aerial arts and is not suitable for beginners. There may be limited additional costs for costumes; we try to be mindful of expenses.

Why such a long session?

In short, act development takes time and repetition! With the end goal of a full production show, we need at least 18 weeks of training time. Students who have participated in our performance troupe throughout the years have gone on to roles on cruise ships, Disney on Ice, many national and international circus based shows!

While Performance Company does include technique (skills), it is recommend that students compliment Company with additional technique class(es). Here are the options: Pre-Teen, Teen, and Adult.
