Step into the mystical world of “Cirque of Fortune,” a family-friendly journey inspired by the timeless Rider-Waite Tarot Deck. In this enchanting full-length production, the stage transforms into a realm of wonder, where each act brings a tarot card to life, symbolizing fate, fortune, and the magic of the unknown.
Audiences will be captivated by powerful solo performances and mesmerizing group acts on aerial silks, trapeze, and lyra, along with unique apparatuses like the mesmerizing Cyr Wheel. From the playful innocence of the Fool embarking on a journey to the transformative energy of the Magician, and the ever-turning Wheel of Fortune, each act unfolds a story of intrigue and imagination.

Cirque of Fortune is held at Cleo Parker Robinson Theatre (119 Park Ave W, Denver).
Free street parking and across the street (Safeway parking lot).

Tickets:
- Tickets are $25 per person.
- We highly recommend purchasing tickets prior to the show! They can be purchased through EventBrite below.
- If tickets are still available for door-sales, VENMO ONLY AT DOOR!
- Seating is first come, first serve general admission. It is tiered theatre seating that does have wheelchair accessibility in the front.
Performer information
Cirque of Fortune (COF) will NOT replace anything we currently do! We’ll still have our beloved Student Showcases in early January and May, including our pre-professional Performance Company shows. These serve as great opportunities for those interested in Cirque of Fortune. In fact, adult and youth students enrolled in Spring session of Performance Company are invited to do a group act in COF!
COF will be a family friendly show open to students ages 16+ and Level 2+ only. We will prioritize current students, but will accept submissions from anyone in the aerial community!
This will be an audition based opportunity! We will be casting acts for:
The Fool, The Magician, The High Priestess, The Empress, The Emperor, The Hierophant, The Lovers, The Chariot, Strength, The hermit, Justice, The hanged man, Death, Temperance, The devil, The tower, The star, The Moon, The sun, The judgment, The world
VIRTUAL AUDITION INFORMATION
- Video Submission. Please send a link (via Google drive or drop box, for example) to audition@aerialcirqueoverdenver.com
- Audition videos are due by December 16th. Casting decisions will be sent out by Dec 18th via email.
- If you are cast and accept your role, we will require the registration fee to be paid in the following 7 days. The registration fee is $75.

PREREQUISITE SKILLS
- Students should have completed a level 2 aerial class or above.
- If performing on fabric students should be able to: cleanly invert in the air, climb silks (French and Russian climbs, both sides). Hip key (from Russian climb). Figure 8 footlock and double footlocks in the air.
- If performing on sling students should be able to: cleanly invert from the ground, perform a standing arabesque and gazelle roll-down from seated straddle.
- If performing on a bar apparatus students should be able to: cleanly perform inverted mounts tuck, straddle, and pullover. Double knee hang, hip hang, and straddleback on bar apparatus
audition submission DETAILS
- Please create a 1 minute video of sequencing on the the apparatus you would like to perform on.
- Please provide a brief description of your aerial training. This should include the last level class you completed in the apparatus you would like to perform on, as well as any other movement experience.
- Please specify if you would like to be considered for a solo or a group act (or both, if you don't know or don't have a preference) and on what apparatus.
- Please let us know if you would like to register for Act Creation, Option 1 or 2, see below.
- Please confirm you are available for the in-studio rehearsal, Cleo tech & dress rehearsal, and the Show Day (see schedule below).

ACT cREATION oPTION 1, More support:
- Need help? Join us for "performance prep"; a series of classes to assist you in developing and running your solo or group act.
- Performance Prep will be sometime between Jan - early March , exact time TBD but Sunday afternoons.
- Coaches Nicole and Kara will lead performance prep.
- Be prepared to invest in about 6 to 8 performance prep classes (approx. $258 to $344).
ACT CREATION OPTION 2, LESS SUPPORT:
- Feeling comfortable with act creation on your own? Great! Join our open gyms for this DIY option.
- Open gym options here!
- We will require you to send video "check ins" periodically between Jan and March to make sure your act is safe and on schedule.

Costume & music Requirements:
- Costumes are not provided by ACOD! You will need to invest in your own costume to fit your piece. Below are some guidelines for safe aerial costumes! If you have a costume question, please email us. Please wear you costume for all rehearsals!
- Should provide appropriate coverage to prevent burns (specifically, belly coverage). Should NOT impede hand grip, foot pinch, or vision (for example, long skirts that could get tangled in the apparatus or fly up over your face).
- No sequins, zippers, buttons, etc. in the Silks or Sling due to likely damaging of the silk material. Sequins are fine with bar apparatus such as Trapeze & Lyra.
- Music: Nicole (production manager) can give you a song for your act or you can self-select with approval.
- Needs to be clean version and no longer than 6 minutes.
