Aerial Fabric Purchase – Aerial Fabric Acrobatics
We have aerial fabric for purchase! Our silks are high quality nylon made here in the US! In fact, they are the EXACT same silks you practice on at our studio!
What length is best?
If you are planning to use the aerial silks in the studio, you’ll need 15 yards. If you want an aerial sling (hammock) you only need 11 yards. Unfortunately, the same piece of fabric can’t be used for hammock and silks. This is because 15 yards would be too long for the hammock rigging.
If you are wanting aerial silks for your home set up, use the following calculation.
- Get your exact ceiling height. For this example, we will use 10 feet.
- Double the ceiling height. Example = 20 feet.
- Add 3 feet for the “tie off” to the rescue 8 piece of hardware. Example = +3 feet.
- Add length for “tail”. Tail is personal preference. Most people like 6 feet of tail pooling on the ground. Since the silks have 2 sides, double this number. Example = +12 feet.
- Add the total fabric length. Example = 20 + 3 + 12 = 35 feet. For a 10 foot ceiling, you need approx. 35 feet of fabric.
- We only sell fabric in yards. Convert your total feet into yards. Example = 35 feet, 11.6 yards. You can decide to round up or down. We recommend rounding up for a little extra length.

Safety Notice!
Aerial silks is dangerous. While home practice is fun and compliments classes, we want you to be safe!
DO NOT practice new moves. DO NOT practice drops. DO NOT practice without a rated crash mat. DO NOT practice alone!
We HIGHLY RECOMMEND using a structural engineer to do your build. We can not answer rigging related questions. For aerial acrobatic rigging, a safety factor of 10 to 1 is the standard. This means that if someone weighed 200 pounds, they would want their equipment and structure to support at least a 2,000 pound load!!
Please be safe. Every year students get hurt training on unsafe set ups.
