Student Showcase

Student Showcase Opportunities

We offer multiple student Performance opportunities!

In-studio Youth Exhibitions

Youth students enrolled in our spring and fall terms participate in an informal in-class exhibition during their final week (we do not do a showcase for summer session).
These in-studio exhibition weeks are included with class tuition and offer a chance to celebrate each student’s progress. Family & friends welcome to attend!

Off-site Theatre Showcase.

Our off-site shows are held at Cleo Parker Robinson Theatre (119 Park Ave W, Denver). These showcases are not required for recreational students – participation is optional but is a fun opportunity and great for those interested in Performance Company (youth & Adult) or our Professional Production, Cirque of Fortune! Because it is not included in the cost of the youth or adult sessions, to cover the theatre rental and production costs there is a fee for registration and for tickets (see below).

Off-Site Theatre Showcase Schedule

ACOD hosts two off-site theatre showcases each year. These are held at Cleo Parker Robinson’s gorgeous theatre venue. Participation is open to students based on level, enrollment, and readiness to perform. Each showcase is built around a creative theme, offering inspiration for students as they develop their acts.

Off-Site Theatre Showcase Timeline

All seasonal showcases take place at Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Theatre. Each event requires advance registration, on-time music submission, and attendance at a mandatory dress rehearsal.

Who Can Participate?

Any currently enrolled ACOD student is eligible to perform! Preparation guidance varies depending on your level and class structure:

Must choreograph a routine independently as Level 1 classes do not have a choreography component built in. We recommend 2–4 private lessons with a coach. Music should be 2.5–3 minutes long.
Choreography is built into all class. No additional preparation is required unless desired for comfort.
Many adult classes do not include a choreography component. Students may choreograph independently, book private lessons, or collaborate with coaches and classmates. Open Gym is available for students age 16+.
Private lessons are $85/hour and can be scheduled by emailing the studio. If you’re unsure of your level or how to prepare, talk to your coach during class.

Join a Group Number!

We offer two one-time workshops for Level 2+ students who want to perform in a group piece in the Showcase. Each workshop is two hours long and taught in a group format, with students learning a complete act during the session.

The total cost is $100, which includes:

After the workshop, students are responsible for continuing to practice their piece independently during open gym. While practice is self-directed, students are encouraged to coordinate with each other and use open gym time to rehearse together and keep the act fresh.

Silks Group Act Workshop

Students will learn a full silks group piece, including choreography, transitions, and musicality. This is a great fit for those who love expressive movement, dynamic climbs, and elegant shapes in the air.

Trapeze Group Act Workshop

Students will learn a complete trapeze group act, with choreography, musicality, and staging provided by the instructor. The focus will be on timing, ensemble movement, and creative sequencing.

These workshops offer a low-pressure path to the stage, with a clear goal and the support of a group environment.

Costumes are not included in the workshop fee. Students are responsible for purchasing their own costume. Most group acts wear a black leotard and skin-toned tights or a black unitard, unless the group agrees on an alternative together.

Students enrolled in a group act workshop can add a solo to the Showcase for a discounted rate of $35 (regularly $85). Soloists are responsible for creating and rehearsing their act independently.

Create Your Own Group Act

Want to take the stage with your friends? Students are welcome to choreograph and perform their own group acts outside of the workshop offerings. Whether you’re crafting a duo or building something bigger, this is a great way to showcase your creativity and collaboration.

Pricing is based on group size:

To register, select your act type in check out (duo or group) along with the total number of performers. Since only one registration is required per act, we recommend coordinating with your group to have one person complete the registration and handle payment, then divide the cost among yourselves separately.

Performer Requirements

All acts must complete an act information form, which includes:

Apparatus and preferred rigging height

Music file and song details

Act description or creative concept

Any special rigging or tech needs

* Music and info are due by your season’s posted deadline.
