Non-Traditional Dance Classes for Adults in Denver

We start off the guide with a small collection of unique dance classes!

Aerial Cirque Over Denver

4605 Quebec St. Central Park Neighborhood, Denver.

Perhaps the most unique of all the featured adult dance classes in Denver is Aerial Cirque Over Denver! At the time of publication, ACOD offers at least five adult aerial dance basics (level 1) class options per week. Options include:

  • Multi-apparatus classes including aerial silks, trapeze, hoop, and hammock. This gives you an exposure to everything to see what you enjoy!
  • Mixed-apparatus classes including aerial silks/sling or hoop/trapeze. These are categorized as “vertical apparatuses” and “horizontal apparatuses”.
  • Single apparatus specialty classes in aerial silks or hoop (also known as lyra).

Notably, they run their classes in 8-week session blocks to allow students to learn a progressive curriculum with a group of peers. Drop in classes are not ideal as coaches are having to teach to new people every week, which takes away from the experience of regular students looking to progress. They note that you do not need any prior experience or level of fitness to participate. Aerial is for every-body. The adult beginner classes are all 18+ so you won’t be subject to sharing with teens in these classes! The 8 week session is $225 ($28/class).

Studio 3sixT

2553 S Colorado Blvd #109LL, Denver.

Another unique dance option, get your pole on at Studio 3sixT. Learn pole fundamentals in the Intro to Pole classes including spins! You don’t need any prior experience or level of fitness to participate. There are multiple day/time options per week. You can purchase single drop ins for $25, or class packs ($84 for 4 classes or $156 for 8 classes). Classes are ages 18+.

Bella Diva World Dance is an international dance company. While technically “not Denver” Glendale is within the greater Denver area. They offer a wide variety of classes including Belly dance, Bollywood, Hula dance, Tahitian dance, Ginga Vibe (Afro-Caribbean inspired), Samba, and Persian dance – WOW! They market classes as ages 13+ but say most classes are adults between 20s and 50s. You can purchase single drop ins for $18, or monthly pass for $165 (some restrictions apply).
